2021 Senstar Year in Review
2021 continued to bring challenges associated with COVID-19, but also marked a major milestone with Senstar celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Throughout the year, Senstar focused on our commitment to R&D and to supporting customers in our key vertical markets – utilities, logistics, energy, and corrections.
Here is a look back at some of Senstar’s accomplishments in 2021.
1. We introduced the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform
The Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform is a modular solution for security management and data intelligence. In addition to being an open, highly scalable video management system with built-in video analytics, it includes full-featured access control and perimeter intrusion detection modules.
2. We highlighted the Senstar LM100 Intrusion Detection and Deterrence System – Perimeter Security + Intelligent Lighting
Since its introduction to the market in 2017, this innovative and versatile product has quickly gained momentum. It is currently protecting sites of all sizes – from small independent businesses to large international facilities to critical infrastructure.
3. We appointed new leadership for the Canadian sales team
Senior Sales Director Sean Thompson was hired to lead efforts in the Canadian market. Mr. Thompson brings a wealth of security experience to Senstar and will focus on enhancing the company’s footprint in key vertical markets – utilities, logistics, corrections, and energy.
2021 also saw leadership changes in Asia with longtime employee Alex Kong promoted to Senior Sales Director, South APAC and Japan; and Vance Lau hired as Senior Regional Director Greater China.
4. We received factory certification under the LenelS2® OpenAccess Alliance Program
Senstar received factory certification as part of its long-standing membership in the LenelS2 OpenAccess Alliance Program (OAAP). Senstar’s wide array of perimeter intrusion detection sensors, including FlexZone, FiberPatrol, OmniTrax, Senstar LM100, and UltraWave, now integrate to OnGuard 7.6 and OnGuard 8.0.
5. We introduced the Senstar TC200™ Thermal Camera
The Senstar TC200, a thermal-visible, dual-video detection camera for outdoor site security, detects intruders with high accuracy and low nuisance alarms. It combines the power of term detection with the power of visible HD color for reliable 24-hour security. The Senstar TC200 is currently available in 30 European countries.
6. We announced the Senstar Sensor Fusion Engine driven by the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform
A game changer in the security industry, the Senstar Sensor fusion Engine accesses low level data to intelligently characterize potential risks and data synthesis enables the system to achieve levels of performance that exceed those of individual sensors.
7. We celebrated our 40th anniversary
2021 marked 40 years since the incorporation of Senstar in 1981. We celebrated Senstar’s beginnings, applauded its journey to date, and looked ahead to an exciting future as a trailblazer in the security industry.
8. We introduced the Senstar E5000 Physical Security Appliance
The E5000 PSA is a complete security management system in a box. It combines ruggedized compact, purpose-built hardware with the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform. The E5000 PSA is ideal for critical sites where vibration and extreme temperatures are difficult to manage, including remote utility and energy infrastructure, as well as space constrained environments.
9. We received industry accolades for the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform
The product received the platinum award in the Best IP Video Surveillance Solution category at American Security Today’s annual ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards and has been named a 2021 top 30 security technology innovation by Security Sales and Integration (SSI).
10. We announced the integration of its Senstar Symphony™ Common Operating Platform with the HALO IoT Smart Sensor from IPVideo Corporation
The integration allows HALO users to monitor alerts and notify personnel of out-of-normal ranges or levels of vaping, sounds and gunshot, chemicals, air quality and health, within the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform.
What’s up for 2022?
Senstar has high expectations for 2022 as the security industry continues to recover from pandemic lockdowns and restrictions. We are aiming to increase our market share in our four key vertical markets – utilities, logistics, energy, and corrections – and will continue to advance key products, namely the Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform with sensor fusion engine.
