The Senstar Symphony Sensor Fusion Engine is a breakthrough technology that synthesizes data from separate systems to generate actionable information. More than just a simple Boolean logic integration, the sensor fusion engine accesses low level data to intelligently characterize potential risks. Data synthesis enables the system to achieve levels of performance that exceed those of the individual sensors.

Senstar Symphony Sensor Fusion = Informed, Intelligent Decisions

  • Map sensor event locations to live video for geo-spatial awareness
  • Synthesize low-level data from perimeter sensors and video analytics
  • Compare active events to historical data (time, magnitude, and location information)
  • Reuse existing perimeter and video surveillance infrastructure
  • Scale to sites of any size

Sensor Fusion Features and Benefits

About Sensor Fusion

Sensor fusion is the correlation and synthesis of data from different sensors to increase context for making decisions. It reduces setup complexity, defeats nuisance/false alarms, and ultimately gives users the highest level of confidence in identifying and detecting real threats.

Benefits of Sensor Fusion

  • Reduce Nuisance Alarm Rate (NAR) and False Alarm Rate (FAR)
  • Improve Probability of detection (Pd) and Confidence Level (CL)
  • Outperform third-party Boolean logic integration in many scenarios
  • Lower operating and maintenance costs

Sensor Fusion and Security

For security applications, sensor fusion has direct, practical benefits, namely the ability to maximize the strengths of individual sensor technologies while avoiding their shortcomings. When signal response data from outdoor sensors is synthesized with video analytic data, nuisance alarms generated by wind or debris are virtually eliminated while maintaining the system’s high probability of detection.

Sensor fusion also reduces false alarms created by typical video systems. For example, falsely tracked and classified objects such as:

  • Spiders building a web in front of the camera
  • Water reflections (puddle)
  • Flashlights or car headlights
  • Reflections from metallic objects and puddles (clouds) using thermal cameras
  • Existing perimeter lighting causing reflections during rain and snow fall
