Security Surveillance—Capture, Share and Store What’s Important
Technologies such as fence alarms and video analytics software can detect physical intrusions at a site and activate deterrence devices like security lighting or intercoms, while video surveillance and security management software alerts operators, provides real-time assessment capabilities, and enables organizations to respond quickly and efficiently. But the responsibilities of security personnel do not stop after the initial threat is responded to. The next step is to document the event. A well-defined Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to handle security events is required, with the process ensuring that all necessary data is captured, documented, and shared.
The site’s security and video surveillance systems should assist with this process, empowering security personnel with the necessary tools to quickly and intuitively collect, archive, and share all relevant data with investigators, be they external law enforcement or internal security officers. The Senstar Symphony Common Operating Platform includes features specifically designed to facilitate this process so that organizations can resolve incidents and resume regular operations.
Capture High-Quality Video of Incidents
To minimize resources, video management software typically records video at a lower frame rate, such as 5 frames per second (FPS). However, at the start of a potential security event triggered by fence sensors, people or vehicle tracking video analytics, or other intrusion detection devices, the system records a higher-quality stream, as well as including pre- and post-footage. This ensures that investigators have access to high-quality video, a key requirement for suspect identification purposes. Senstar Symphony includes intuitive controls for configuring multiple video streams, retention periods and protecting video collected during security events.
Provide Context-Specific Procedures
During a security event, adrenaline may run high, a less-than-ideal situation for following detailed procedures. That’s why it’s important that context-specific information, such as response procedures and key contact information, be on-screen and readily available. Senstar Symphony can link procedures to specific event criteria and display them alongside multiple video streams in its Alarm Console. In addition, when resolving an alarm, operators can add observational notes and classifications, which is critical information when event reports are generated.
Generate Summary Videos
A quick investigation of a security event is critical to resuming normal operations. Investigators may simply not have the time required to review hours of footage captured from multiple cameras. That’s why Senstar Symphony includes as Summary Video feature, which condenses an event to only its highlights as well as increasing playback speed, reducing hours of video to only relevant segments.
Export Multi-Camera Video Linked to Event
A single video stream may not provide the complete story behind a security event, for example, when reviewing the actions of an intruder during a break-in. That’s why it’s important to be able to quickly export video streams from multiple cameras during a single time period. In addition to supporting industry-standard formats, Senstar Symphony provides the option to include an offline video player that enables investigators to playback multi-camera video streams simultaneously without having to install the full Windows Client.
Share Video via Secure Cloud or Encrypted Files
When working with law enforcement, exported video needs to be shared quickly and securely. The physical transfer of video via USB sticks is time-consuming and requires in-person intervention. Senstar Symphony offers secure, password-protected cloud-sharing, where the exported video is saved to Senstar’s Xnet cloud, and an email notification is auto-generated. The shared video is password-protected and can include optional privacy masks.
