Electric Fencing

Electric fences are a safe and effective deterrent for humans, wildlife, and intruders. They make perimeter security much more secure and simpler to maintain. An electric fence is a system of wires and equipment capable of delivering an electrical shock when touched by humans or animals. When the wire senses human contact, it sends out pulses powered and guided through metal rods to return to their source.

How Electric Fences Work

An electric fence typically consists of an energizer, conductor, posts, and insulators. The energizer emits a current pulse at a set frequency when touched; conductors that transmit electricity to earth rods for voltage drop from one end of the field to another without any resistance; and insulator that stops surges or spikes throughout by blocking electrons from passing on either side. An animal or person who touches the fence receives a shock from it as soon as they come into contact with its current pulse. Once that happens, the power then goes to the ground through their body and returns back up via rods placed in between the earth points on either side of where any electrical currents are taking place.
