Senstar Introduces the Senstar LM100™ Intelligent Perimeter Lighting and Sensing Solution

New first of its kind perimeter security product to be on display at ASIS 2017 Booth 4296

Dallas, Texas (ASIS 2017) –  September 26, 2017 – Senstar today introduced the Senstar LM100, the world’s first intelligent perimeter lighting and sensing solution. Combining two key security functions in one cutting-edge product, the LM100 acts as a powerful deterrent against intruders, detecting and illuminating them at the fence line while alerting a security management system (SMS).

“The Senstar LM100’s specially-engineered LED lighting was specifically designed for perimeter security applications and optimized for use with CCTV camera systems,” said Product Manager Todd Brisebois. “With its ability to sense vibrations caused by attempts to cut, climb or break through the fence, the LM100 is a highly effective tool for protecting property and assets from theft and vandalism.”

Consisting of luminaires mounted along the fence, the Senstar LM100 uses wireless self-healing mesh communication network technology to relay intrusion information enabling the system to operate in a coordinated fashion and resulting in robust site-wide security. When networked, the LM100 reports intrusion attempt locations to the site’s SMS to enable a directed response.

The Senstar LM100 provides configurable, localized, uniform lighting allowing cameras to operate with a higher dynamic range, and ensuring objects and people are illuminated while avoiding the generation of dark silhouettes in front of bright backgrounds. Its Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 70+ brings out critical details that enhance video analytics.

Senstar Announces FiberPatrol® for Buried Perimeter Detection Applications

Covert and undetectable fiber optic sensor ideal for protecting long perimeters and borders

Ottawa, Canada – June 2, 2017 – Senstar, the world’s largest manufacturer of perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), today announced FiberPatrol for buried perimeter detection applications. Using a buried fiber optic cable and a centrally-located sensor unit, FiberPatrol provides covert detection of intruders, vehicles, and tunneling for up to 72 km (45 mi) per processor.

“The advanced technology behind FiberPatrol has been protecting critical infrastructure around the world for many years as a fence-mounted intrusion detection solution,” said Product Manager Stewart Dewar. “Engineered for buried applications, including pipeline protection, we can now provide the same reliable and accurate detecting and locating abilities, with intruders not even aware they are being monitored. These buried detection capabilities further broaden Senstar’s market-leading portfolio of perimeter intrusion detection products.”

FiberPatrol detects and locates a wide range of above and below ground threats associated with long perimeters including borders. From someone walking, running or crawling above the sensor, to heavy vehicle engine vibrations, to digging and tunneling activities, FiberPatrol pinpoints intrusion attempts to within ±10 m (±33 ft) accuracy.

FiberPatrol requires no powered or conductive items in the field, making the sensor completely immune to EMI and lightning and intrinsically safe in the presence of explosive atmospheres. It can accurately detect and locate intrusions even when there are multiple simultaneous intrusions or in the presence of spatially-distributed environmental noise that would mask the detection capability of other long-range fiber optic sensors. As well, the system’s resilient design allows detection to continue right up to the point of a cut in the sensor cable.

FiberPatrol for buried applications is ideal as a standalone protection option or as an additional layer of protection for a fence line. For buried pipeline applications, check out FiberPatrol®-PL.

Senstar Announces Extended Range Detection for FiberPatrol®-PR

Enhanced system more than doubles previous detection range capabilities and allows for more accurate intrusion locating

Ottawa, Canada – May 9, 2017 – Senstar, the world’s largest manufacturer of perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS), today announced that FiberPatrol-PR, its fiber optic fence-mounted sensor for perimeter applications, now provides up to 50 km (31 mi) of protection per processor, more than doubling the system’s previous detection range capability of 24 km (14.9 mi). The intrusion locating accuracy of the system has also improved to within 4 m (13 ft) from the previous 8 m (26 ft).

“This is the second time in just over a year we have implemented extended range capabilities for FiberPatrol-PR,” said Product Manager Stewart Dewar. “By enhancing the system, we are able to provide customers greater protection and more accurate locating with less infrastructure. This results in more economical deployments for long perimeter sites, including borders.”

FiberPatrol-PR uses proven fiber optic technology to detect and locate intrusions. The system has a reduced nuisance alarm rate because it can differentiate between disturbances caused by real intrusions and environmental disturbances such as wind and rain. FiberPatrol-PR can detect and accurately locate intrusions even when there are multiple simultaneous intrusions or in the presence of spatially-distributed environmental noise that would mask the detection capability of other long-range fiber optic sensors. As well, the system’s resilient design allows detection to continue right up to the point of a cut in the sensor cable. The system can also be deployed in a cut-immune configuration.

FiberPatrol-PR requires no powered or conductive items in the field, making the sensor completely immune to EMI and lightning and intrinsically safe in the presence of explosive atmospheres.

Senstar Introduces the Flare™ Real-Time Locating System

Patented RF technology helps to keep staff safe in high threat environments

Ottawa, Canada –  April 25, 2017 – Senstar today introduced the next generation of the Flare Real-Time Locating System which instantly identifies and locates personal duress alarms at the touch of a button. Designed for reliability in institutional and industrial environments, Flare uses patented, proven, cost-effective technology to help keep staff safe.

“The technology behind Flare has been in continuous use in high-threat environments for over 20 years,” said Product Manager Todd Brisebois. “Senstar has used this experience to design the architecture and feature set required for a mission critical real-time locating system while offering one of the industry’s lowest Total Cost of Ownership.”

In the event of danger, the user activates a Personal Protection Device (PPD) on his or her belt. The PPD emits an RF signal that is detected by a network of sensor units concealed throughout the facility. Flare immediately locates indoor emergency alarms to within 6 m (20 ft) and displays the location, status, and identity of the PPD on a map-based display in the control room. Pull-pin and man-down (tilt activated) options are also available, and the system can be optimized for outdoor use. Flare operates in protected frequency bands that use dedicated spectrum, avoiding the potential for interference.

Key features of the Flare Real-Time Locating System include low sensor unit density, scalable architecture, IP connectivity, and ruggedized components. Flare is also easy to install and maintain, and requires minimal user training.
